The project is a refurbishment of a three-room apartment connect with a studio apartment. The reconstructed apartment is located in the city center of Havířov in an apartment building with a commercial ground floor.
Existing and proposed layout
Concept
The main living space is designed as one open space. It connects the living room, dining room, kitchen and hallway into one space which could be divided by sliding doors. In the middle of it, the bathroom and kitchen are placed as a central block – the social core.
The bedroom and the children’s room remain separated from the main living space in the rest area of the apartment to the north-east in the position of the original rooms.
The same principle of the inner core is used for the studio apartment.
